Sylvia Farrow - Watercolours
Sylvia extended her repertoire to wildlife, namely animals, using mixed media, but now combines her love of watercolour and birds and focuses mainly on this, as the fluid nature of watercolour lends itself perfectly to these little creatures that never keep still.
Jan paints using natural form as her inspiration. Her recent work was influenced by a visit to Kew Temperate House and the Oxford Botanicial Gardens. Dense greenery became the focal point
As a photographer he is interested in both the traditional processes and increasingly in his experimental techniques. For this series of prints he has developed the use of infrared digital imagery to capture a different range of tones and combined it with a modern equivalent of the Victorian practice of hand tinting photographs. He calls the print form used for this exhibition “Tinted Infrared Duochromes”.
