Green and Community Drinks

11.jpg

Suddenly Green Drinks feel VERY mainstream. The penny has dropped and the media and political mainstream have started to talk seriously about the threats of climate change and extinction of species.

Locally we have just celebrated six years of our sustainable food market based on transition principles and one year of our library of things and repair parties. Crystal Palace is gaining a reputation as an area for green innovation with the transition town working in partnership with many other great organisations, including the The Paxton Centre.

Palace Pint, Patchwork Farm, our community gardens, litter picks, food waste initiatives, The Welcome Choir, cycling initiatives, CP Library of Things, Repair Parties and the new retail eco-duo of The Store Cupboard and Roots and Cycles, are laying the foundations. We are beginning to explore a community land trust.
But on it's own it isn't going to be enough anymore.

All of the 5 boroughs have now declared a Climate Emergency!
But what does that mean and how can we get involved ?
Come along and get involved in the conversation !
Find out what is already happening and what could happen in the future.

Our Green and Community Drinks is an informal facilitated space where everyone is given a chance to speak, share their ideas and projects and learn from each other.
In the lovely setting of The Paxton Centre.
