Learn how to design and screen-print fabrics for home, clothing and craft. Working from fresh flowers, or from your own ideas, you’ll create designs to screen print in a variety of colours. You’ll leave the workshop with 2 pieces of printed fabric and either a tote bag or tea towel with your final design, plus the opportunity to create a lampshade with your design on.
During this workshop you will:
-Understand how screen printing works
-Learn how to create floral motifs from fresh flowers
-Create a stencil of your own design- (drawing skills not needed!)
-Prepare the screen and fabric for printing
-Print 2 pieces of fabric in a variety of colours
-Print a tote bag or tea towel
-Make your own printed lampshade (£10 additional cost for lampshade)
-Learn all the skills to be able to screen print at home
This afternoon workshop will teach you the basic principles of designing for print, and screen printing, using A5 size printing screens. If you decide you love screen-printing, you can take home an equipment pack with everything needed to continue printing at home, for only £25.
