Welcome to the wonderful world of pottery and this new 4 week Summer Ceramics Course which is suitable for beginners.

Clay is the most tactile and therapeutic material with which you can explore your ideas using several hand building techniques. You will learn surface decoration including carving, impression and relief to apply to your unique pottery pieces and be introduced to various different glazing options.

Course outline
Week 1 - Tiles or Coasters
Week 2 - Lidded boxes
Week 3 - Coil built bowls
Week 4 - Glazing your work

Your finished glazed pieces will be available to collect 2 weeks after the end of the course.

The Paxton Centre Arts Space is a light and spacious environment and is Covid Secure following government guidelines for leisure facilities. Places are limited and work tables are spaced out to allow for social distancing. The Centre is well ventilated with fresh air flow and several sanitizing stations. All tools and equipment will be stored separately between uses and cleaned appropriately.
