James O'Mara - Digital Art
A Belfast born artist who moved to Penge in 1987. After a small exhibition in Streatham Library in 1989 his portfolio of work went missing. After finding a job in the care sector he gave up drawing completely. James started drawing again in 2016 with the Anerley and Penge life drawing class at The Bridge House and learned about drawing on an iPad. He is part of the SE20 Art-Group and has exhibited in Penge, Crystal Palace, Bromley, Sydenham, Surrey Quays. He took part in a successful group exhibition ‘Foursight and Everything in Between’ at the Tension Gallery in Maple Road in January 2020.
Bob Tsang - Photography
Photography is a medium I have always cherished from a very early age - being inspired by not only the beautiful images that my brothers would create, but in the simplistic form of their cameras in the 80s. It wasn't until I was studying my PhD in Engineering that I was serendipitously immersed in the world of imaging, and also by crossing paths with my photography mentor, Peter Davies, who headed my laboratory. My research required extensive use and understanding of a vast array of optics and imaging principles, that included macro imaging to electron microscopy. This knowledge opened up a new world for me and armed with these new skills I fervently pursued photography as a hobby.
Peter Miller - Painting
Born into an artistic family in East London who nurtured his love for the arts. As a child he soaked-up all artistic expression from galleries to comic books and everything in between. His passion for the arts led him to take a foundation course at The City & Guilds of London Art School and proceeded to Kingston University where he received a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art. Influenced by painters such as Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon, Miller uses oils and acrylics as his tools to emphasize texture, color and emotion in his artwork. His more recent works adding harder and more expressive outlines to his subjects, gives a nod to Frank Miller and Mike Mignola with their comic book and graphic art sensibilities.
Most days you will find Miller, now a freelance illustrator, creating content for companies such as the NBA and Roc Nation while working on commissions for small businesses, artist’s and private clientele. You can also view his paintings and drawings in exhibitions across London.
Jas Mandhar - Abstract Art
Originally from a traditional north Indian family from the Midlands, Little Mouse is now a South London based artist who has been painting and creating for over 20 years. LM started her creative education at Northampton University studying design, but did not find the courage to fully pursue and expose her flair and love of painting until decades later.
Little Mouse treasures the courageous eccentric and the dark moments in life, and attempts to translate them through acrylic and metallic on canvas, she specialises in Canvas pieces that are colourful, dramatic and full of energy, often with moody and dark components, her pieces are offset with bold colour wipes and metallic elements.
Hari Mandhar - Yoga Pose Art
I have always loved painting but also enjoy creating simplicity in process and pursued a career in research and process management. After spending some time away from work, I revisited my love of art and I had a random stint selling illustrations of ravens in Peckham Cafe. Following this, I decided to see if there was interest in buying my art mainly for the reason that I cant keep it all in my flat! I like creating clean lines and movement in art, and love trying to emulate moody skies and seas.
See you there!
