Life and Times of Admiral Fitzroy

Join us for a light hearted Lacture (a lecture with acting in it) on Vice-Admiral Robert Fitzroy's life and achievements. Fitzroy lived and died in Crystal Palace.

He captained The Beagle which took Darwin to the Galapagos Island, leading to Darwinism. He was also the first ever head of Met Office and pioneer of weather forecasting which subsequently saved thousands of lives at sea.
