June Artist Exhibition Launch Night

As we approach the Summer June brings five individual artists for a group exhibition in the Gallery. Come and meet them, enjoy a drink and see the new works on display and for sale throughout the month.

Susan Cox’s – Painting

Her work draws on the figurative traditions of the past, bringing new interpretations of real imagery, places and people who have made her journey rich and diverse. She combines colour, pattern, movement and composition to map out both known and unknown narratives. She is also a qualified Art Therapist and has worked widely with children, adolescents and adults in the UK and Brazil. Currently based in SE London, Susan works from her studio and also teaches.

Rosie Lovelock – Lino Prints

I am an Artist and Printmaker working in South East London. Influenced by the female form, botanical shapes and the colours, shapes and people around me. I have an obsession with fine lines and pattern and am driven to include such things in the art that I make. Pattern and line are a joy to me.

I graduated from UWE in Bristol with an illustration degree 20 years ago and have been making Art ever since. I regularly attend life drawing groups - the drawings of which form the basis of my lino prints. When I am not printing, I am filling up sketch books with drawings of flora and fauna.

Cathy Hull - Screen Prints

After thirty five years as a graphic designer, Cathy now works on her own ideas. Inspiration came from a year long course in Advanced printmaking and digital media at City Lit. She found that print wasn’t always two dimensional and created videos and stop motion animation from three dimensional cyanotypes. Her love of silkscreen printing began to develop on this course. Cathy produces silkscreen prints at Sonsoles in Peckham.

Giulia Barichello - Architechial Drawings

"I am Giulia Barichello, I am originally from Italy where I grew up loving and studying architecture, its styles and history. Walking around observing and inhaling the scenery that surrounds me has been a big part of my life too. A couple of years ago I found a way to combine these two big passions of mine. So here I am, drawing illustrations of historical buildings, meaningful personal places and beautiful gardens. And I am loving it!"

John Lauder - Bold Abstract Painting
