Exhibiting Artists

Steven Thompson - Abstract Art

Steve Folk is a modern-day expressionist who focuses heavily on light and its reactions to its surrounding areas. He finds influence in the old masters and the expressionists and impressionists of yesteryear.

He paints from the imagination, drawing from his memories of extensive travel. He’s has been involved in several exhibitions around London and believes in the affordability of art for all.

 John Farnworth - Fine Art

Having spent over 50 years as a professional graphic designer working with computer graphics, I realised on retirement that I wanted to return to the more traditional style and methods that traditional watercolour affords. Also as can be seen from my latest work I gain inspiration from a variety of subjects but seascapes are probably my favourite.

 Seham Girgis - Abstract Art

Originally from Egypt and have been living in the UK for over fifty years. I became interested in water colour painting very soon and starting painting landscapes but then I found myself to be interested more in abstract and hence all my exhibits here represent my latest works.

 Junie Tan - Watercolours

A recent graduate from Middlesex University, MA in Children's Book Illustration and Graphic Novel, I am an illustrator and artist who loves watercolour. This series of figurative paintings were made during life drawing sessions and each within one sitting. The short duration of the poses, limited colours and a Chinese brush allowed me to quickly capture the moment. The chinese brush is very flexible and is good for producing both board strokes and fine lines. I enjoy experimenting with colour and ways of using the materials. These paintings are selected from many made during such sessions.

Lynnette Murphy - Acrylic Art Work

A local, London artist who originally studied at Eastbourne Art College but later had a career in Fashion Design and illustration. Recently work has centered around large paintings in Acrylics inspired by nature with some abstract influence. Trees, landscapes and flowers are represented with an eye on textiles and pattern. Other work is represented in portraits of local people with a preference in their profiles.

 Imogene Stephenson - Oil Painting

Imogene is a 69 year old mother of four (now retired foster carer to many children in need) and self taught artist. She picked up her paint brush following a competition which was held on her road and continued painting to get through the grief of losing her much loved sister and best friend, Beverley in 2019 and her niece (Bev’s daughter), two years after to cancer. Imogene loves painting landscapes and from her imagination. Painting for Imogene has been a lifeline and she can often be found with her canvas, paint and paintbrush nearby!

Everyone welcome.
